Cleanup & Catch-Up

One-time

From $750

Fixed quote after your free diagnostic

Most businesses don’t arrive with clean books. They are either behind (catch-up) or wrong (cleanup), and usually both. Before monthly work begins, we bring your accounting current and correct: processing old periods, reconciling accounts, fixing categorization, clearing suspense, and correcting balances. Every month after that starts from a reliable baseline.

Your quote is scoped from these

  • How many months you are behind
  • Average monthly transaction volume
  • Number of bank, card, and loan accounts
  • Condition of the balance sheet: unreconciled items, suspense balances, and payroll postings
  • Complexity: inventory, multicurrency, sales tax, or multiple entities

Cleanup engagements start at $750 and are quoted after your free diagnostic. Pricing reflects how many months you are behind, transaction volume, account complexity, and the condition of your balance sheet. A straightforward month often runs from about $300, but treat that as an example and not a formula. A single month with broken payroll postings, inventory, multicurrency, or historical balance-sheet problems can cost more than several clean months. You get one fixed quote upfront, with no hourly billing and no surprise invoices.

You keep your books

Your books stay in your own QuickBooks or Xero, under your own subscription and your own login. We work inside your file rather than copying your ledger into a platform you cannot take with you. If you ever leave, you keep everything: no migration project, no export request, and nothing of yours for us to hold on to.

How getting started works

Most new clients need some catch-up first. Cleanup is a built-in step: a one-time fee scoped from your diagnostic, so ongoing service starts from a clean baseline.

  1. 01

    Free books diagnostic

Upload your QuickBooks or Xero exports. We run automated checks and return a books-health score plus plain-English findings, which also scope any cleanup.

  2. 02

    Onboarding & migration

We connect QuickBooks or Xero, set up the OnNumbers platform, handle the migration, and assign your dedicated team.

Pricing questions

Which plan is right for my business?

Essentials covers bookkeeping, reconciliations, AP, and a monthly GAAP close. That’s the right starting point for most early-stage teams. Growth adds AR, budgeting, modeling, and audit or grant reporting for firms that need deeper profitability insight. Enterprise is for complex accounts that need a dedicated lead accountant and audit-ready controls. Unsure? Book a call, or start with the free books diagnostic.

What is included on every plan?

Essentials, Growth, and Enterprise include the full platform at no extra charge, and the point of it is what it removes from your week. You watch the close progress rather than chasing an update on it. Duplicate payments and odd vendor activity get flagged the day they land instead of at year-end. A board or lender report is minutes of work. Invoices ageing past 30 or 60 days surface by client name while you can still do something about them. Your accountants then help you act on all of it, which is the part software alone never covers. You choose the level of accounting service on top.

Am I locked in, and who owns the books?

You own them, and there is no long-term contract. Plans run month to month, and the ledger itself lives in your QuickBooks or Xero subscription rather than inside a platform you would have to migrate off. Cancelling means we lose access and nothing else about your setup changes. Worth asking any firm whose platform holds your ledger what leaving actually involves, because the answer is usually an export request and a long wait.

Why does flat-fee pricing not show hours worked?

We price on outcomes: clean books, a reliable close, and reports you can act on. Pricing ignores time spent, so you are never penalized for our efficiency. You still see complete transparency on the work itself, including status, findings, and deliverables.

How is the cleanup & catch-up fee calculated?

Cleanup engagements start at $750 and are finalized as a fixed quote from your free diagnostic. There is no hourly billing. The exact number reflects how many months you are behind, your transaction volume, the number of accounts, and complexity such as broken payroll postings, inventory, multicurrency, or multiple entities. A straightforward month often runs from about $300, but treat that as an example and not a formula: a single messy month can cost more than several clean ones. You get one fixed quote upfront before any work begins, and ongoing monthly pricing is separate.

How do the solopreneur plans differ?

Lite is $479 for the year. Standard is $959. Pro is $1,799. You pay once. Essentials, Growth, and Enterprise stay month to month. We don’t file the return. The books are ready for the firm that does. We don’t run payroll or S-corp administration on the yearly plans.

How long does onboarding take?

Most firms are fully onboarded in about five business days. We connect QuickBooks or Xero, handle the migration, and assign your team. If catch-up is needed, a one-time cleanup follows so your monthly service starts from a clean, reconciled baseline.

Not sure which plan fits?

Tell us your transaction volume and how the business is structured, and we’ll point you to the right level of service.
